【Product Manager】
The Product Manager works closely with EIRs to bring startup concepts through validation and product-market fit. This involves:
- Segmenting, identifying, and engaging with high expectation customers
- Developing a product vision and prioritizing the minimum features that will achieve an emotional response
- Aligning the EIR, engineers, and other stakeholders to build, price, iterate, and roadmap the product
- Analyzing the competition to maintain a unique value proposition
Some characteristics of an ideal candidate for this role:
- Demonstrated ability to iterate to product-market fit in a startup context
- Ability to make tradeoffs, understanding that “everything to everyone” almost never results in growth
- Familiarity with the USA market, consumers, and business models
- Understanding of unit economics, especially why CAC payback is especially important right now
- A passion for health and wellness - helping people optimize how they feel and perform
- Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese
【Entrepreneur-In-Residence】
The EIR acts as a co-founder, taking a startup concept through validation to product-market fit, working closely with the studio’s team and utilizing its full capability stack. The EIR then ideally becomes CEO, raising external financing to build an independent team and spin out with the startup on a long-term growth trajectory.
Some characteristics of an ideal candidate for this role:
- Demonstrated ability to iterate to product-market fit in a startup context
- Curiosity and confidence to balance creative experimentation with decisive action in an environment of uncertainty
- Familiarity with the USA market, consumers, and business models
- Understanding of unit economics, especially why CAC payback is especially important right now
- A history of building, leading, and inspiring talented teams
- A passion for health and wellness - helping people optimize how they feel and perform
- Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese
【General Startup Hustler】
This is a contract-based, junior position for those interested in working in a startup environment and will be responsible for day to day operations and creating/managing content.
This may include:
- Supporting the business operations and growth teams
- Driving the studio's ability to compound value, resulting in an exponential rather than linear growth function
- Choosing, implementing, and managing the tools, resources, databases, and processes that allow the studio to operate efficiently
- Engaging with the US & Taiwan ecosystems to creatively find resources for startup creation
- Working with product teams and company leadership to align on messaging
- Identifying influencers and opportunities to collaborate with them
- Experimenting with, iterating on, and measuring the effectiveness of creative approaches
- Maintenance of the company’s website and other social media presence
- Writing long form content
- Building and growing a newsletter
Some characteristics of an ideal candidate for this role:
- Highly curious and able to learn quickly and continuously
- A concise and effective communicator at all levels of the organization
- A growth mindset, proactively finding ways to contribute in an unstructured, intense startup environment
- A creative problem-solver, especially in situations where precedent may not exist
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects concurrently
- Native level fluency in (especially) English and Chinese
【Scientific Content Writer】
The Scientific Content Writer will compose short and long form content to explain complex scientific concepts to target customers.
This may include:
- Researching and writing layperson-appropriate content on subjects such as epigenetics, functional nutrition, and biochemistry
- Answering customer questions across social media, online communities, blogs
- Segmenting and understanding customer profiles to more effectively target content
- Blogging
- Generating content for the company's products
- Developing materials for the company's internal learning
- Writing about startup and product development topics is a plus
Some characteristics of an ideal candidate:
- Ability to read and understand scientific literature
- An effective communicator, able to concisely explain complex (scientific) concepts to any audience
- A growth mindset and ability to learn quickly and continuously
- A creative problem-solver, especially in situations where precedent may not exist
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- A background or interest in biochemistry or a related field
- Native level fluency in (especially) English and Chinese
