中華信用評等公司係民國86年5月31日於我國正式成立的第一家信用評等公司。為確保評等之獨立、公正與專業，中華信用評等公司結合了世界頂尖的全球性信用評等機構-標普全球評級〈S&P Global Ratings〉與嫻熟臺灣金融環境的國內股東共同成立。創立初期的本國股東包括：台灣證券交易所、台灣證券集中保管股份有限公司、中華徵信所企業股份有限公司、財團法人金融聯合徵信中心、財團法人中華民國證券櫃檯買賣中心、以及財團法人中華民國證券暨期貨市場發展基金會。
